About Me
I’m a native Spanish speaker, born in Colombia and raised in New Jersey. When I was nine years old, my father passed away tragically, and from that moment on, it was just my mother and me navigating life together. Watching her courageously build a new life for us in a different country—while carrying the weight of deep grief—instilled in me a profound sense of resilience, determination, and compassion. Her strength, perseverance, and unwavering work ethic have definitively and deeply shaped the woman and mother I am today.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of La Verne in California and went on to receive my master’s in social work from the University of North Dakota. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working in various settings, including child welfare, community mental health, schools, long-term care, and medical environments.
For over a decade, I’ve been honored to walk alongside individuals on their healing journeys. That passion ultimately led me to create Empezar Wellness—a space dedicated to supporting others in rediscovering their strengths and stepping into the life they envision. I strive to bring warmth, authenticity, and a solution-focused approach to each session. My goal is to build a collaborative partnership with my clients, helping them tap into their inner resources and move confidently toward the life they desire.
